The celebrator insisted it wasn't quite his 78th birthday.
Rather, said former President Ronald Reagan, it was "the 39th
anniversary of my 39th birthday." And what was all the talk about
retirement? "Two weeks ago, I went into retirement," Reagan told
students at the University of Southern California last week. "Am
I glad that's over! I just didn't like it. Took all the fun out of
Saturdays. So here I am, saddled up and ready to ride again." At
his U.S.C. "coming-out party," Reagan said he would campaign for
a balanced budget and a line-item veto. He also said he would fight
for the repeal of the 22nd Amendment, which limits Presidents to
two terms. Aw, he misses the White House already!
